President Biden has been predicting a Russian invasion of Ukraine for weeks, after 'green-lighting' Russia in talk about Putin making only a 'minor incursion' into the country of Ukraine.

What is really going on?

Ukraine is the largest country that is entirely within Europe. The country sits on the southwestern part of the Russian Plain and has a largely low terrain. The average elevation of the land is only 574 ft (175 m).

As observed on a physical map of Ukraine, about 5% of the country is mountainous. The northern reaches of the Carpathian Mountains stretch across western Ukraine. The country's highest point is located there; Hoverla Mountain, at 2061 m (6762 ft) tall.

The southern lowland of Ukraine continues into the Crimean Peninsula, a peninsula jutting into the sea from southern Ukraine via the Perekop Isthmus. It is a disputed territory.

The Crimean Mountains front the southern edges of the Crimean Peninsula, and some lower, heavily-eroded mountains extend into Russia, just north of the Sea of Azov.

Much of central Ukraine is covered by plateaus and fertile plains (steppes), somewhat hilly areas of grasslands and shrublands.

The Black Sea Coastal Lowlands cover the southern edges of the country.

Ukraine is bordered by the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

Major rivers include the Desna, Dnieper, Dniester, Donets and the Southern Bug. Numerous waterfalls are found in both the Carpathian and Crimean Mountains.

The Dnieper River, one of the major rivers of Europe (fourth by length) flows from Russia, through Belarus and Ukraine, to the Black Sea. The river's total length is 2,285 km (1,420 mi).

Ukraine is divided into 24 provinces (oblast), 1 autonomous republic (avtonomna respublika) and 2 municipalities (mista). In alphabetical order, these provinces are: Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovs’k (Dnipro), Donets’k, Ivano-Frankivs’k, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmel’nyts’kyy, Kirovohrad (Kropyvnyts’kyy), Kyiv, Luhans’k, L’viv, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil’, Vinnytsya, Volyn’ (Luts’K), Zakarpattya (Uzhhorod), Zaporizhzhya and Zhytomyr.  Crimea or Avtonomna Respublika Krym (Simferopol’) is an autonomous republic. Kyiv (Kiev) and Sevastopol’ are two municipalities of special status. The 24 oblasts and Crimea are further subdivided into 136 raions (district) and city municipalities.

With an area of 603,628 sq. km (which also includes the area covered by the Crimean Peninsula), Ukraine is the 2nd largest country by area in Europe and the 46th largest country in the world. With a population over 42 million people, Ukraine is the 7th/8th most populous county in Europe and the 32nd most populous country in the world. Located in the north-central part of the country, along the Dnieper River is Kiev (Kyiv) – the capital and the most populous city of Ukraine. Kiev is the chief cultural and industrial center of Eastern Europe.

Ukraine is an Eastern European country. It is situated both in the Northern and Eastern hemispheres of the earth. Ukraine is bordered by 7 European Nations: by Belarus in the north; by Hungary, Slovakia and Poland in the west; by Moldova and Romania in the southwest; and by Russia in the east and northeast. It is bounded by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov in the south. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea borders Ukraine to the south.

One clue to Biden's being out of touch with reality: when he visited Britain during the climate summit, he told a group of our U.S. Soldiers stationed there, that the greatest threat they faced was "Climate Change." I cannot remember hearing any President say something so ridiculous as that to a group of men and women trained in our military.
Task & Purpose is an excellent website for finding current information about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  Here are three short videos from their site which explain what has happened. Videos are hosted by a former Infantryman:
The ineffective 'sanctions' by the Biden administration has allowed this:
These are war crimes perpetrated on innocent civilians by a ruthless dictator who is trying to hide his immorality from the people of Russia.  Schools, hospitals, churches, and homes are under attack.
President Biden takes a strong stand against the immoral invasion of Ukraine in his State of the Union Address:
BUT........gas prices were rising BEFORE Russia invaded Ukraine and BEFORE Biden stopped importing Russian oil. After his election, he cut off new oil leases, stopped pipeline construction, and essentially curtailed exploration and drilling. I had an uncle who was a consulting oil geologist, a graduate of Oklahoma University, and Stanford, and had several conversations with him about how oil was found, the extent of it in nature and its importance.

The FOG of WAR - understanding what is really going on between Ukraine and Russia:
More perspective from overseas observers, courtesy of GBNews.UK, SkyNews.UK, SkyNews.AU

NATO lacks courage and determination to close the skies over Ukraine or provide necessary equipment for this purpose.

The relevant statement was made by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva in an interview with TSN.

“Sadly, it is obvious they lack courage, determination; perhaps they are thinking to sit and wait, so that nothing else happens. But is has already happened. The war in Europe has already been lasting for 18 days. Thus, they will not be able to sit and wait,” Zhovkva told.

In his words, the Ukrainian position is flexible, and Western partners could have provided at least some equipment required to close the skies.

“If you cannot establish a no-fly zone to close the skies over Ukraine, please provide us with equipment, provide us with missile defense systems, as you have them; provide us with anti-aircraft defense systems, as you have them; if you cannot provide that, please give us aircrafts, fighter jets, as you do have them,” Zhovkva noted.

According to Zhovkva, negotiations are underway, and they are rather successful in some terms.

“But, we would like more devotion, we would like countries to think a little bit ahead and realize that, defending Ukraine today, they are defending themselves tomorrow,” Zhovkva stressed.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages.

During a virtual address to Congress, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked for additional help to defend his country, including instating a no-fly zone and issuing more sanctions “every week until the Russian military machine stops.” Zelenskyy also shared a video of the conflict in Ukraine.

And then we discovered how Putin can keep the Russian people from discovering the true numbers of soldiers' deaths a secret.

Russia has mobile crematoriums that ‘evaporate’ dead soldiers: report

Russia has mobile crematoriums in its arsenal that could follow invading forces and “evaporate” dead soldiers, according to a report.

The British Ministry of Defense released video of the trucks that can incinerate bodies one at a time and suggested Wednesday that the Kremlin might deploy them in its war with Ukraine to hide the number of casualties, the Telegraph reported.

“If I was a soldier and knew that my generals had so little faith in me that they followed me around the battlefield with a mobile crematorium, or I was the mother or father of a son, potentially deployed into a combat zone, and my government thought that the way to cover up losses was a mobile crematorium, I’d be deeply, deeply worried,” UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace told the paper.

“It’s a very chilling side effect of how the Russians view their forces,” he said of the footage first posted back in 2013.

Wallace expects “to see some of the things they’ve done previously” and that the use of a mobile crematorium “probably says everything you need to know about the Russian regime,” according to the Telegraph.
